WHAT IS INCLUDED?
We start off with an evening of welcome with cocktails, light bites and introductions, two full days of teaching and a farewell breakfast. Guests will also be treated to shared accommodation. KT Merry and Sandra Åberg will teach you all they know about the business. Each participant will have the opportunity to photograph two styled photo shoots designed by the talented Joy Proctor which will include models, designer wedding gowns, invitation suites, and a full table scape. Special guests include: Pearl from Pearl & Godiva and Sara from Wedding Sparrow.
IS AIRFARE INCLUDED?
No, you are responsible for paying and arranging your airfare and travel to and from the hotel.
WHATS THE BEST AIRPORT TO FLY INTO AND HOW FAR IS IT FROM THE HOTEL?
Paris Charles de Gaulle airport is the best airport to fly into. Paris Orly Airport is also an option. From Charles de Gaulle you can take a taxi for around 30-50€ and it will take about 30 min. depending on traffic. The RER train is also an option, for a cost of 10€.
WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE?
At end of march the weather in Paris can vary. The average daytime temperature is 12 – 15 degrees celsius, so bring some sweaters and warmer clothes. That being said there is nothing quite like Paris in the Spring – or really Paris anytime!
IS THERE A HOSPITAL NEAR BY?
Yes The American Hospital of Paris (63 Boulevard Victor Hugo, 92200 Neuilly-sur-Seine, Paris) is a short 10 minute drive from the hotel.
WILL MY DIETARY RESTRICTIONS BE ACCOMMODATED?
Yes, please feel free to email us in advance and we’ll make the necessary arrangements for you.
WILL DRINKS BE PROVIDED?
Yes there will be drinks with all meals, wine – water etc.
IS THERE WIFI?
Yes!
WILL I BE SHARING A ROOM?
Yes, our pricing is for a shared room which we feel gives you the opportunity to learn and make friends with other attendees which is part of the experience. A big part of the workshop is to build new relationships! If you would prefer your own room or you are traveling with your spouse please ask for more info regarding getting your own room an additional cost.
WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND BRINGING?
We recommend you pack layers as we will be out around town and the weather can change quickly in the spring. Bring a bikini for a dip in the pool but also bring a warmer jacket for the cold evenings. Feel free to dress casual throughout the workshop days and casual cocktail attire is recommend for the evenings.
Bring a notebook, pen or laptop to take notes, any marketing materials you have, and a portfolio on a laptop or printed. And of course bring your smile and eager mind!
IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR ALL LEVELS AND BACKGROUNDS?
Yes, while we will definitely have enough material and experiences to inspire a seasoned photographer, this is also a great chance for the aspiring photographer (we recommend you have at least 2 years experience with shooting part or full-time). We will also be giving hands on instruction on shooting film as well for anyone looking to branch into the medium.
FILM OR DIGITAL, DOES IT MATTER?
Absolutely not! You are welcome to shoot any format you desire or why not both? We will have a few extra film cameras as well should you like to try it out.
DO I NEED TO BRING FILM?
While we will be providing each attendee with 5 rolls of 120 Fuji Pro 400H, it’s recommended to bring extra should you wish to shoot more film. Paris is breathtaking and most people end up shooting a lot!
WHAT TIME WILL WE BEGIN AND CONCLUDE EACH DAY?
We will start right after breakfast at 9.15 am and end around 6-7 pm. Then we will all go out for dinner together, so it will be full days of learning and inspiration in one of the most romantic cities in the world.
WILL GROUND TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED?
No, ground transportation is not provided from the airport – any transportation during the workshop is of course covered.
CAN I COME IN BEFORE OR STAY AFTER THE WORKSHOP DATES?
YES! We highly recommend exploring Paris and the area around before or after the workshop, perhaps you can even travel with a fellow attendee!
CAN I USE THE IMAGES I SHOOT IN MY PORTFOLIO?
Images may be used in your portfolio and blog 6 weeks after the workshop and with the credit that the images are from the Moda e Arte Workshop and all of the vendor credits that will be provided to you to be used as well.
CAN I SUBMIT THE IMAGES I SHOOT AT THIS WORKSHOP?
You may submit the images that you shoot at the workshop 6 weeks after the workshop as the workshop host images will be featured during this period. After this, you are more than welcome to submit them online as long as ALL vendor credits are included and it’s credited that images are from the Moda e Arte Workshop.
